It is grindy if you don't pay but there are also limiting features, you can't play without spirit energy, you need to buy restoratives for that. You can't compete in the event rankings meaning you can't get the best cards and even if you do manage to unlock them you can't max them because you'd need to get them 5 times which you can't do without buying jewels because of time limits. I liked the idea Ayakashi and I like the idea of Otogi but the unfairness means free player leave and paying players get bored, there's no endgame, it's not social enough or has enough content to keep people and too unbalanced to even if there was. I like the voice clips and animations in Otogi but they really don't add much from Ayakashi. It's pretty much the same game.
Ho Yay / Les Yay: Some daemons of the same gender seem to have. Closer relations — for example, Shuten-doji and Ibaraki-doji. The Chain Ability System, which was introduced in September 2014, only reinforces this. Here you can view the full art of all the daemons you have recruited so far, as well as their respective lore. I have to admit, it’s very satisfying to see the card gallery slowly complete itself. Conclusion: Fair (2/5) Ayakashi: Ghost Guild is a game of patience, determination and luck since one mostly plays the game to just collect the cards.
It allows you to repeat floors at least in the current event rather then starting over for more points toward event rankings. The company takes comments from users after you play for a while and they actually respond even if it's pretty much a 'thanks for the input, we'll be sure to look into that.' Not sure if you're still interested in it, but Ayakashi was sold to a different company because they weren't profiting, which now created Otogi. It's not really referred to a sequel. The gaming mechanic is you level up your daemons, progress to the next chapter and so on. It's nearly the same as Ayakashi, except it's 3D and you can use the daemons special attack on enemies.Seeing as I am level 19, it's very addicting for me. I don't waste money buying spirit essence because they give you when you log in or as a level up gift. You can use other people's cards in battle and use their special ability.Only thing that bothers me is that it's very tedious. I only have one 5 star card and it's special attack is very weak.
A summoning rate of a 5 star card is about 7% possible. The game play is tedious, sometimes the story doesn't make sense, you cannot do anything in your guild yet, and a lot of people may add you as a friend to smooze off your card during battle. Other than that, I find it fun.
Every chapter you collect a new card.Other than that, I recommend you try it for yourself.
